In case you're reading from afar, I do this show from 40° 1′ 10″ N, 105° 17′ 34″ W, Colorado. Hosting a vast variety of venues to see live music every night of the week, as well as many independent record stores, collectives, and establishments like the very station I broadcast this show on - the state provides what is perhaps the most active musical stronghold the middle of the U.S. has to offer, besides maybe Austin, TX.
It is likely far cooler and more well-rounded than your state, except for I guess California or something, but does anyone actually want to go to California anymore? And if you're from either of those other two states on that West Coast there, good for you. I'm happy for you. I bet it's nice.
...At any rate, here is a handful of artists that are (or were) operating out of CO.
Supporting good Local bands is absolutely paramount to cultivating a responsible and non-shit-eating music industry of the future, so please do it whenever you can, wherever you can.
